The Japanese writer Mori Ogai purportedly said the ideal writing style consists of "first, clarity; second, clarity; third clarity." The word he used in Japanese for "clarity" was 明晰 (meiseki). Meiseki Legal Editing, LLC was formed to bring clarity to the English legal writing of foreign bar associations and law firms. 

  

Meiseki Legal Editing, LLC was formed by Daniel Young, who has been editing for over 8 years. Daniel obtained his bachelor's degree in Japanese and his law degree from the University of Utah. He formed Meiseki Legal Editing, LLC to offer his editing services to a broader clientele and satisfy his hankering for clear legal writing. Daniel is also an attorney at Plant, Christensen & Kanell.
